5 cool 😎 things to do this weekend (26-27 April 2025)

Let's face it, planning the weekend can sometimes feel like a chore! Finding fun things to do, whether you're flying solo, with friends, or wrangling the family, isn't always easy. But don't worry, we've done the hard work for you! Here are five fantastic ideas in and around Guildford to make your weekend brilliant:

  1. Get your weekend off to an active start with the free, friendly 5k Parkrun. It's not a race, just a timed run/walk in Stoke Park. Perfect for all fitness levels, and a great way to meet fellow locals. Just register online first if it's your first time!

  1. It's peak cute season! Take a short drive out to Bocketts Farm for their Spring Spectacular. See adorable newborn lambs, meet the shepherd, and enjoy all the usual farm fun like pig racing and tractor rides. Great for families.

  1. Fancy learning how local beer is made? Hogs Back Brewery runs fascinating tours explaining the brewing process from hop to glass, finishing with a tasting of their famous ales like TEA (Traditional English Ale). Booking essential!

  1. Prepare for something different! Young British guitarists Mikhail Asanovic and Jake Wright combine acoustic flamenco flair with electronic dance music anthems. Expect high energy and incredible guitar skills at The Boileroom.

  1. Feeling adventurous? Head over to Mytchett (just a short drive) for some fun on the water. Whether you fancy open-water swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, or even wakeboarding, Quays has options for different skill levels. Booking is usually essential!
