Morning Neighbours,

Hope everyone had a great Easter Weekend 🐇 - we sure did!

One of the highlights was attending a show called Illusion: Impossible at the Yvonne Arnauld Theatre and it was a thoroughly entertaining evening for the family with a well paced show with awesome magic tricks, humour and crowd participation.

If you haven’t been to the Yvonne Arnaud in a while, I’d definitely recommend checking out their upcoming events – it’s such a great local gem that makes for a perfect evening out without having to trek too far. We’ve put together the Top Events coming up in the events section below.

Wishing you all a great week ahead!

  • How we chose:

    • Only shows already on sale at Yvonne Arnaud were considered.

    • Ratings come from recent national‑press, specialist‑theatre or festival reviews; where multiple existed, we quoted the highest broadly‑representative score (and noted aggregates where clearer).

    • New co‑productions still awaiting press nights (e.g., The Comedy of Errors, A Company of Rascals) aren’t ranked yet—keep an eye once reviews land.

3 Side Hustle Ideas

Looking for ways to earn extra income right here in Guildford? Here are a few ideas you could start today:

 1. Hyper-Local Errand Runner

  • Concept: Be the friendly face helping busy professionals, families, or less mobile neighbours with small errands within Guildford town centre – collecting orders from local independent shops, posting parcels, grabbing essentials.

  • Actions/Requirements: Reliability and trustworthiness are key! Define your service zone and hours. Promote via local social media, community flyers, and word-of-mouth. Good organisation and potentially a bike needed. Consider basic liability insurance.

  • Est. Earnings: Aim for £10-£15/hr or charge per errand (£5-£10+). Part-time efforts could bring in £50-£150+ weekly as you build clients.

 2. Curated Weekend Experience Packs

  • Concept: Design and sell simple, themed 'experience packs' for local families – think digital guides with walking routes, scavenger hunts, and pub tips, or physical packs adding locally sourced picnic treats or craft supplies. Themes: "Surrey Hills Explorer," "Guildford History Trail."

  • Actions/Requirements: Get creative researching local gems! Design engaging digital content (Canva is great for this). For physical packs, partner with local producers. Set up a simple way to sell (Etsy, local Facebook groups). Market to parents online.

  • Est. Earnings: Price digital packs £5-£15, physical packs £20-£40+. Highly scalable – weekly earnings could range from £40-£200+ depending on pack appeal and marketing reach.

 3. Community Skill Matchmaker

  • Concept: Connect residents needing small jobs done (basic gardening, tech help for seniors, pet sitting, event setup) with reliable students or active retirees looking for flexible gigs. You're the trusted go-between.

  • Actions/Requirements: Network locally to build your list of taskers and clients. Implement a simple vetting process. Start matching manually via email/phone. Promote through community centres, Uni contacts, and local groups.

  • Est. Earnings: Charge a small commission or finder's fee per completed job (£5-£10). Income is variable based on successful matches; aim for £20-£100+ weekly as your network grows.

(Disclaimer: Estimated earnings are illustrative and depend heavily on your effort, pricing, marketing, and demand.)
